On this page What we collect How we use it Who we share it with Emails and texts How long we keep it Your choices Customer information you receive Contact us

1. What we collect

  • Signup details: dealership name, type, address and website; regions served; plan and package; and each contact's name, role, email and phone number.
  • Billing: your Stripe customer and subscription references, card type and last four digits, payment status, and the fees charged. Stripe collects and stores the full card details.
  • Activity: when lead links are viewed and opened, the offers you make and their conditions, and pause and renewal history.
  • Messages: emails and texts you send us.
  • Technical data: basic request information (such as IP address and browser type) used for security, rate limiting and fixing problems. We don't use advertising cookies on bidriveauto.com.
  • Public business information: to invite dealers to join, we may collect business contact details dealerships publish themselves, such as on their website or in business directories.

2. How we use it

  • To send lead alerts to the right dealerships for each region, and to run lead pages and offers.
  • To charge package and lead fees, send receipts and handle billing questions.
  • To show customers the offers you make, including your dealership's name, city and type.
  • To give Pro dealers feedback such as offer rank after a lead closes, and market insights based on combined activity.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent misuse and improve it.
  • To invite dealerships to join, using business contact details they publish. We stop as soon as you ask.

3. Who we share it with

Customers see your dealership's name, city, type and website alongside your offer. If they pick you, they also see your dealership's address and phone number so they can reach you.

We use these service providers, which process information for us under contract:

  • Stripe: Card payments, subscriptions and receipts
  • Airtable: Secure database for accounts, leads and offers
  • Vercel: Website and lead page hosting
  • Anthropic: AI that reads inspection reports and helps draft messages. We do not permit Anthropic to use your data to train their AI models.
  • Google Workspace, Postmark: Email

Cross-Border Data Transfer & AI Processing: Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. AI processing (Anthropic) and hosting (Vercel, Airtable) inherently require cross-border data transfer, and by using the service, you explicitly consent to this transfer. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business. We don't sell personal information.

4. Emails and texts

By signing up, you agree that we can email and text your contacts about leads, offers and your account. These messages are part of the service. You can tell us to stop marketing messages at any time by replying STOP or emailing us. Account and billing notices will still be sent while your account is open.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account and activity information while your account is open and for up to 2 years after it closes. We keep billing records for 7 years because tax law requires it. Information is then deleted or made anonymous.

6. Your choices

  • Ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or correct it.
  • Withdraw your consent or ask us to delete your information. Some records, such as billing, must be kept for legal reasons, and we may not be able to send leads without contact details.
  • Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you aren't satisfied with our answer.

7. Customer information you receive

When a customer picks your offer, you receive their contact details. From then on, your dealership assumes sole responsibility for that information under Canadian privacy law, PIPEDA, and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). bidriveauto acts solely as an intermediary processor prior to this selection and relinquishes all liability for data security and privacy compliance regarding the transferred data once you receive the customer's details. Our Dealer Terms explain how you may use it.
